We have decided to change up the way we do things. So instead of team teaching in the same (small) space, we are moving to a more departmentalised approach. Miss E will still teach all the literacy, and Mrs Z will still teach all the Numeracy, but we are going to split the kids into two classes and teach the same thing twice. Our kids have been getting a bit restless, so it's time to shake things up! And with only four weeks left to the end of the term, it's a good time to do that. We will check back in at the end of the term and see how things went!
I'm heading on over to Mrs Laffin's Laughings to check in with "A Peek at my Week"
Just a side note, I LOVE her blog name - mostly because I love to laugh. (check out Tuesday)
Today we start the year 6 literacy PAT tests. (PAT tests are a NZ normed test that stands for Progressive Achievement Test, I can remember doing these tests when I was in Primary and Intermediate school).
The y6's are sitting the Reading Comprehension, and Vocabulary tests over the course of the week. Thankfully they aren't tests like the State wide tests you have in America!!
Take two of the soccer tournament! HOPEFULLY the weather holds out and we have the soccer tournament this week. Last week it was cancelled due to rain (and the fact that the playing grounds were built on a swamp!). This week it's the girls tourney and they are SOOO ready!
Tuesday night I'm going to go to the movies with some of my friends here at school. I laugh at EVERY thing, so while I'm laughing at the film, they will probably be laughing at me!! hehe
Ekk I have to go to the dentist. Yes I know that isn't school related, but there isn't anything different happening on Wednesday this week so hey!
More PAT testing, and the saving day for soccer. It's supposed to rain on Thursday, so let's hope for fine weather tomorrow!
I'm taking our speech winner, and the runners up to go to the interschool competition! I'm quite excited about this, it's my first time, and I really think we have a winner on our hands!
We also have road safety week this week. Constable Glenys is coming in to teach us about being safe on our bikes!
That's my crazy, busy week! Actually every week is crazy and busy, so I really should be used to it by now!!
