Bear with me - this post has a few things in it!!
First - CURRENTLY!! It's the start of a new month - and while I'm sure people have now read about 100 of these posts, here is mine!
Most of it is fairly self explanatory!! Just remember that I am in New Zealand! So we have our summer break coming up from the 17th of December! Kids come back to school on the 3rd of February. I CAN'T WAIT!!!
The big reveal though!! This is exciting. Some of you know that I'm going through a name change (on my blog!) from "The E-Z Class" to "Learning to be Awesome!" Because the wonderful Zelda, whom I have been team teaching with this year, is leaving our school to go and teach at a school closer to her home. She will be greatly missed! So I'm giving myself an early Christmas present and the amazing Megan over at A bird in the hand designs is currently working on an up do of my little blog!! Just in time for my blogiversary too by the looks of it!
My family is all spread out now, so traditions aren't really kept any more. Actually, we had our Christmas yesterday (on the 1st of December) because my brother is working on Christmas day - and this was the only weekend we could all get together. I'm pretty sure we started a new tradition for the kids yesterday, and it was SOOOO much fun!! I set up a treasure hunt, a bit like an Easter egg hunt, around my brother's farm. "Santa" had written a letter to the kids (aged 7-1) and they had to search for their presents. I had managed to find a whole bunch of toys and books for the kids for less than $10. Then there was a lolly hunt too. The kids were over the moon!!

My mum is wonderful, and is all about making sure that Christmas doesn't become too commercialised in our family. We always have a secret santa person - and that's it. NO buying for anyone else unless you personally want to. $50 limit. I love it! You really have to get creative and think about the person you got!
Then last year my two brothers were in New Zealand, but my parents, my two sisters, my sister's friend, and I were in San Diego for Christmas. We were so impressed by the Dollar Tree store that we had a "Dollar Tree Christmas" where you had a $5 (plus tax) limit to buy for EVERY one. It was awesome!! Absolutely the best Christmas ever. (Until yesterday)
Okay - Well done for making it to the bottom of this rather long post!! Just a quick reminder - I'm part of an amazing giveaway that closes at the end of the week. You could win a $100 Target gift card, or a $20 TPT card, or a $10 TPT card. PLUS some awesome resources! Check it out here.
