Totes Made it!

OK forgive me for all the linkys, linkys, and nothing but linkys at the moment!  I just am loving this break.  I hope y'all in the States are surviving what our weather man is describing as a "Polar Vortex of doom!"  Ok so I added the "of doom" bit, but still!! You all ok out there?!

So I have a real Monday Made It, and a sneaky, cheeky, not so real Monday Made It to share with you today.

I'll go with the real one first!
Ok so last year my buddy teacher Zelda had this really cool pencil holder!  Unfortunately, she took it with her to her new school.  Hence the need to "make" one!  I loved how her one worked, with out having to count a single pencil, she could tell at a glance how many were missing.  LOVE IT!!!

So I made my own!  Totally awesome might I add!

Check it out.
I started with an off cut of  4 x 4

Measured and ruled lines to show where I wanted the holes

Disclaimer - my dad chose the drill bit, so you will have to figure that out for yourself sorry
Drill down about 5 cm (2 in)

I did plan to drill all the way across, but left the row in the middle so I can see pens on one side, and pencils on the other

Then I used the belt sander to make it nice and smooth

Voilà!
In the spirit of using recycled materials, I used some leftover paint from the garage.

Works perfectly!
I might just add some labels to it later on - to show pens/pencils

GO ME!!
And now for the cheeky made it.

I "made it" to 100 followers!  Here are the rafflecopters to check out and make sure you are all entered in.

See ya!

  6. Congrats on 100 followers! One thing you should try with your new class is singing to fun, modern songs to increase fluency. One I'm going to introduce soon is A Bright Idea by Mother Mother. Enjoy!
