Mrs Z has moved on to another school now and so I'm back in the classroom just as myself. I think that life is pretty awesome, and I try to make sure that at least one awesome thing happens each day. This blog is all about learning how to be awesome at the every day things, so that life is a bit more awesome.
I teach year 5/6 in South Auckland, New Zealand. My kids are about as crazy as I am, which is good. Most of them come from Pasifika, or Maori families, where English may not be the first language spoken at home. It's tough, but I have learnt to love my job, and where I've been called to teach.
Personally - I am the eldest of 5 kids. My dad is a police officer, and my mum is a midwife. I go to an awesome baptist church in Auckland, and love The Lord. One of my sisters is currently studying at Oregon state university, but she graduates in June. I have always known that I was going to be a teacher, even before I started school. My dream is to teach in the USA one day. But it doesn't seem likely.
Thanks for stopping by!
